What Is KPV?

KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is a tripeptide derived from the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It represents the core anti-inflammatory fragment of alpha-MSH, retaining the anti-inflammatory properties of the full peptide while being a smaller, more stable molecule. KPV acts at MC1R and MC3R receptors and directly inhibits NF-κB signaling — one of the master regulators of the inflammatory cascade.

KPV has garnered research interest for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) research, wound healing, and anti-inflammatory protocols. Its small size (tripeptide) provides stability advantages and potential for mucosal delivery that larger peptides don't share. It is often studied alongside GHK-Cu in skin biology research (KLOW Stack) and alongside BPC-157 in gut healing protocols.
