What Is TB-500?

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the amino acid sequence 17–23 of the naturally occurring protein Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4). Unlike BPC-157, which acts locally through growth factor upregulation, TB-500's primary mechanism involves actin sequestration — it binds G-actin monomers and promotes cell migration and proliferation in injured tissue.

Thymosin Beta-4 is endogenously produced by platelets and is released at wound sites, suggesting a natural role in the healing cascade. The TB-500 fragment retains the core actin-binding domain and has demonstrated systemic distribution in research models — an important distinction from peptides with more localized activity.

TB-500 is frequently studied alongside BPC-157 (the "Wolverine Stack") because their complementary mechanisms — systemic cell migration (TB-500) and local growth factor upregulation (BPC-157) — may produce additive effects in tissue repair research models. Both compounds have no FDA approval and are for laboratory research only.
